What does it mean to be a Christian Counselor?
The Christian/Pastoral Counselor relationship involves an intentional and purposeful conversation directed toward connecting an individual to the person of Jesus Christ through the grace-centered message of the Bible. The goal of Christian Counseling/Biblical Counseling is to engage a person who is struggling with personal and/or professional relationships, the impact of lifestyle choices, ineffective problem-solving skills, learned behavior, internal wounding, trauma, etc., and inviting them to apply the principles in God’s Word to transform their belief systems in such a way that the person experiences the life-giving nature and power of the person of Jesus and His heart for their healing, redemption, and well-being.

As a counselor, I seek to build strong relationships with people and help them learn to hear God’s voice in their life and apply the truth found in the Word of God in ways that are meaningful, healing, and life-giving. I believe that every time we seek God and His truth, we find it. I also believe we are better together. God designed us for relationships, and having someone who can help us process the experiences of life is not only helpful but at times very necessary.
